An experimental project that brings the fluid architecture of a public building inside a regular urban landscape.

The new building, which consists of two volumes — theater and mediatheque — has the courtesy to curve itself in order to open a great public place that connects with the city main street. By this way, an urban respiration is created which is more than welcome in a very dense built context.

The construction draws its strength and, at the same time, its visual strangeness by trying to maintain an active relationship with its neighbours.

The curvature of both volumes addresses a direct answer to the surrounding buildings connecting commercial tall constructions with residential buildings. The curve becomes a natural connection between main street and individual houses form the location back side.

The architectural style of the exterior is found also in the interior. From the entrance, the interior of the building is easy to read and perceive. The interior organization is of a great clearness: all the functions are distributed on three levels plus a basement for the theater technical spaces and an underground parking.
